Course Title: The Latest International Standard: Introduction to ISO 45001

Objective: The webinar provides an overview of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). The webinar covers the importance of the ISO 45001 standard, details related to implementation and the benefits of ISO 45001, and discusses key points for successfully implementing the OHSMS criteria at your organization.

Pre-Requisites: This presentation is beneficial to personnel wanting to learn more about ISO 45001 criteria. Attendees should have a basic understanding of ISO standards and OHSMSs prior to this webinar. Mr. Lacy was an Army Aviation Officer serving more than 23 years on active duty, with his last assignment as the Director of Aviation and Safety for an organization of more than 10,000 Soldiers and employees.  He has more than 20 years’ experience managing safety risks and has extensive experience with the implementation of SMS such as ICAO, FAA, DOT, and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 for intermodal transportation activities. He currently serves as a member of Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) AV090 Aviation Safety, Security, and Emergency Management committee.

Mr. Wisnewski worked in the SOH field for the past 12 years. He started his career with the Marine Corps in Parris Island and transferred to Tobyhanna as the Chief of Safety and Occupational Health in 2017.  Tobyhanna has made a business decision to transition their existing OSHA VPP and OHSAS 18001 efforts to ISO 45001. These efforts culminated in May of 2019, when Tobyhanna became the first DoD organization to successfully achieve ISO 45001 certification.

Mr. Renwick has worked for the SMCX for the past 5 years. Prior to that he worked on a contract supporting the Army performing industrial Hygiene surveys. He has 5 years’ experience assisting organizations with their Safety Management System and has competed the Lead Auditor training for ISO 45001.
